One simple act of kindness can make a difference in a pet’s life. Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Adoption Center, Inc. wants to remind you that “Change a Pet’s Life Day” is January 24th and that it’s the perfect time to express your love for pets and also consider adoption, since there are countless animals that yearn to be a part of a loving family.

“Change a Pet’s Life Day” was created for nationwide recognition of homeless pets in need of forever, loving homes. Whether you choose to adopt a new friend or even volunteer at a local animal shelter, your generosity will go a long way for an adorable pet that is seeking affection.

If you are considering adopting a furry family member, Save-A-Pet has many animals that are in need of forever homes. Tiger, a five-year-old black and gray cat, is looking for a new home after his owner recently had a baby and had no choice but to put him up for adoption. Tiger is accustomed to a family environment and longs to be in a permanent home. If you are thinking about adopting a cat, please consider welcoming Tiger into your home so he can go back to the life he was familiar with.

Bonita, a young, tan and white pit bull terrier with an infectious smile is anxiously waiting to be placed in a loving home since she has been living in a shelter her entire life. When people come to visit Save-A-Pet, Bonita gets excited about potentially getting adopted. However, the perfect family has yet to come along. Bonita is active and playful, which makes her the ideal family dog. She is up-to-date on medical shots, has been altered and is even house-trained. If you’re looking for a companion, consider adopting Bonita to provide her with a forever home that she has always deserved.

As an alternative to adoption, sponsorship is another way that can significantly change a pet’s life. For $30 a month, a cat or dog of your choice will be provided with toys, bones, and treats that will put an instant smile on their face until he/she is adopted. In addition, your monthly donation will assist with medical costs and their daily routine expenses. As a sponsor, you will be provided with an update of your “sponsoree” every month to see how he/she is doing!

“This national day is extremely important to us at the center because it helps people recognize the number of pets that still need homes,” says Dori Scofield, Founder/President, Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Adoption Center, Inc. “We encourage everyone to come down to Save-A-Pet on January 24 to brighten a pet’s day by visiting or considering bringing them into your home. Even if you can’t adopt at this time, Tiger, Bonita, and all of our pets at the shelter are in need of sponsors.”
