BRIE IS DEVASTATED!
This week we witnessed a kind of heartbreak words can barely capture. Brie, a 9-year-old pit mix, has been her dad’s shadow since she was a puppy. Through every chapter of life, she has stood faithfully by his side, offering the unconditional love that only a dog can give. This photo was taken this morning.

But her dad is now facing his final days with a terminal illness. With unimaginable strength, he made the most selfless and painful choice any pet parent could make—he entrusted Brie to us. Through tears, he whispered a final goodbye, asking us only for one promise: that she would find love again.

Brie is everything we wish the world could see in her breed—gentle, well-trained, loyal, and sweet with everyone she meets. She’s never lived with other dogs or cats, but she has never known anything but love, and she has so much left to give.

Last Sunday Brie left for transport to New York. She didn’t understand why she was put in a strange van with other dogs or why her dad couldn’t come with her, but we do—and we carry his promise in our hearts. We will not stop until Brie finds a person who will love her as fiercely as he did, so her dad can rest in peace knowing his best friend will be safe.
